A cowshed turned restaurant on the Isle of Jersey, Portifer Farm Tearooms specializes in dripping wet fresh seafood and, of course, Jersey Royale new potatoes prepared by chef/owner Alan Mason, here with Global Food Heritage Project founders Meredith Sayles Hughes and Tom Hughes. January 2005.

Around the corner from Proust's aunt's home in Illiers-Combray, Meredith found the bakery from which Tante Leonie bought those memorable madeleines. Pilgrims still can buy them today.

Tom found it's all snails all the time with Valerie Samec at her escargotiere
in Pouilly en Bassigny, France.
