Please allow some flexibility as to dates and times. Book a program before June
15, 2005 and save $75. Additional performance of
same program, Additional discounts possible per discussion. (Note: Tom is a teacher workshop/faculty meeting presenter as well. Speak with him directly about a food- related training project designed specifically for your staff.) • If hiring more than one program, try to book programs back to back for your school, preferably in the morning. This affords you a discount and makes it easier for Tom to keep on schedule. The FOOD Museum will invoice your school or venue in advance. The museum is a 501c3 non profit based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Payment at the close of the program is preferred but checks can be mailed to The FOOD Museum office if necessary. • Gain further price breaks by interesting other schools in your area to hire The FOOD Museum program on the same day. • Please notify Tom ahead of time of the age range
and size of the expected audience. The largest all-school assembly audience
should number no more than 350 students. Ideally, so that all students
can see, hear and participate in the program comfortably, divide it
into two groups of about 150 children each. Tom’s preference
is to have students seated either on the floor or on chairs in a horseshoe-shaped
configuration. Note: Tom is experienced with both large
and intimate groups, however, so if this is not possible, don’t
worry about it. Performance day • Tom will arrive 30-45 minutes ahead of presentation time. He will need to know where to park and unload. He uses up to 4 large rolling carts for the program. Be sure to discuss with the school custodian or staffer in charge that a program is on the schedule to establish that the venue is ready on time. • It’s a good idea to allow teachers 10 minutes lead-time to get their students to the assembly venue. As Tom is allotting 40 minutes to each program, you don’t want any classes to miss part of the program or interrupt a program that is underway. (Most teachers also remind their students of what is polite behavior during assemblies.) • In general, it’s best if smaller younger children can sit down front for any program. Tom will oversee seating for his programs unless your school prefers to leave this in the hands of a staffer. • Tom does not need to be introduced, but would certainly be happy were a school staffer to do so. At the close of the program, please assign a teacher or administrator to dismiss the children. • It’s helpful to The FOOD Museum to have feedback after each program from teachers and administrators. We bring a Visitor Book for people to sign and also will be leaving assessment sheets with your school. We appreciate receiving your responses.
